Overview
A website is not a purchase, it is equipment. Content goes stale, dependencies drift, images pile up, forms silently break after a mailbox change, and a site that converted well in year one quietly stops converting in year two.
Our care plans cover the boring, essential work: updates, backups, uptime and form monitoring, security patching, speed regression checks and a fixed allowance of content edits each month. You get one number on the invoice and one person to email.
Every plan includes a monthly report written in plain language — what changed, what broke, what we fixed, what the traffic and enquiries did, and what we recommend next.
What you get
Everything below is included in a standard engagement — no line items that appear later.
Managed hosting and SSL
Fast, edge-delivered hosting with certificates, DNS and deployment handled. No shared-server neighbours slowing your site down.
Updates and security
Dependency and platform updates applied and tested, plus hardening and malware monitoring so an update never takes the site offline.
Backups and recovery
Automated off-site backups with a tested restore path. If something goes wrong, restoring is a decision, not a project.
Uptime and form monitoring
Round-the-clock uptime checks and periodic test submissions of your enquiry forms — the failure most businesses discover a month late.
Content edits
A monthly allowance for copy changes, new team members, price updates, seasonal banners and new project photos.
Performance and reporting
Core Web Vitals tracked over time, image and script regressions fixed, and a monthly report on traffic, rankings and enquiries.
Transparent pricing
How much does website maintenance cost?
Care plans run $150 to $750 per month depending on hosting requirements, site size and the monthly edit allowance. Sites we did not build start with a one-time takeover audit, typically $500 to $1,500.

How we work
Takeover audit
We inventory hosting, domains, DNS, analytics, forms and dependencies — including for sites we did not build — and document what we found.
Stabilise
Backups, monitoring, SSL, redirects and any urgent security or speed issues are handled in the first month.
Maintain
Scheduled updates, edits within your allowance, and continuous monitoring with alerting to us before you notice.
Improve
Each quarter we propose one or two improvements based on the data — a page that deserves rewriting, a form that leaks, a section that is not being read.
How we differ
A fair comparison against how this work is commonly delivered.
| Feature | Algorank | Typical alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Monitoring | Uptime plus live form submissions | Uptime ping only |
| Backups | Off-site, with tested restores | Host default, untested |
| Reporting | Plain-language monthly summary | Automated PDF nobody reads |
| Contract | Month to month after 90 days | Annual lock-in |
A good fit if
- The site is a real revenue asset and downtime costs you work
- Nobody internally owns updates, backups or hosting
- You want small changes handled without quoting every time
Probably not for you if
- You want unlimited redesign work inside a maintenance fee
- The existing site is beyond reasonable repair — a rebuild is cheaper
If that is you, say so on the call — we will tell you straight and point you somewhere better.
From experience
The mistakes that cost the most.
Assuming the contact form still works
Mailbox changes, expired API keys and DNS edits silently break enquiry delivery. Most businesses discover it weeks later. Ours are tested on a schedule.
Treating updates as optional
Deferred dependency updates become a migration project and an attack surface. Small and frequent is cheaper than large and urgent.
Having no tested restore path
A backup nobody has restored is a hope, not a plan. We verify restores so recovery is a decision, not an emergency.

Questions
Still unsure? Call +1 (613) 416-9512 and speak to the person who would run the project.
How much does website maintenance cost?
+
Care plans generally run $150 to $750 per month depending on hosting requirements, the size of the site and how many content edits you need. Sites we did not build require a one-time takeover audit, typically $500 to $1,500.
Do you maintain websites you did not build?
+
Yes, provided the code is in reasonable condition and we can access hosting and repositories. The takeover audit tells us honestly whether maintaining it is sensible or whether a rebuild would cost less over two years.
What is not included?
+
New pages, redesigns, new functionality and campaign work sit outside the plan and are quoted separately. Edits inside your monthly allowance are never billed extra.
Am I locked into a contract?
+
No. Plans are month to month after the first three months, and your site, domains, code and data belong to you at all times.
