01
The challenge
Forty years of craftsmanship was represented by a site that looked like a directory listing. High-value renovation clients were bouncing before they saw a single project.
02
Our approach
We led with the work: full-bleed interiors, restrained serif display type, and generous whitespace. Services, galleries and the blog were split into their own indexed routes so each earns rankings independently, and enquiries flow into a managed submissions pipeline.
03
The outcome
A multi-page site that reads like a design studio's portfolio rather than a contractor's brochure, with consultation booking as the single dominant action.
Design decisions
Three choices that made the difference.
Photography treated as the argument
Full-bleed interiors run at generous scale with no competing overlay text. For a six-figure renovation decision, one honest photograph of finished millwork outperforms three paragraphs of copy.
Every service earns its own indexed route
Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions and commercial work were split into separate pages rather than accordions on one page, so each competes for its own query set and can be expanded independently.
A consultation flow sized to the decision
No 'get a free quote' urgency. The enquiry asks about scope, property type and timeline, which filters tire-kickers and gives the team a real brief before the first site visit.
What the site was built to be found for
Targets renovation research queries in Ottawa — kitchen renovation, basement finishing, home additions, general contracting — where buyers compare portfolios for weeks before contacting anyone.
Where we would take it next
Adding per-project case pages with budget bands and timelines, the content renovation buyers search for and almost never find.
What we built
- —Multi-page architecture with dedicated service routes
- —Editorial project gallery with per-project detail pages
- —Blog structure for renovation guidance content
- —Consultation request pipeline with scope qualification
- —Serif display typography and a restrained neutral palette
Responsive build
The same site, engineered for the phone in your customer's hand.
Tap-to-call in the header, a quote action always in reach, and images sized for mobile data. The mobile view is not a shrunken desktop — it is the primary design.
